Here are eight new restaurants to check out in Connecticut in December, from a beloved Old Greenwich deli shop that re-opened after two years to the second location of a beach-themed burrito spot that doubles as a coffeehouse. Italian restaurant Mangia Mi opened in Sandy Hook in October, the restaurant's second location in the U.S.Chef and owner Rebecca White was born and raised in New Haven and rose to national food fame after winning Food Network's "Cooks vs. Cons" in 2016.

PopUp Bagels, a Connecticut brand born during the pandemic that has expanded into New York City and beyond, has announced its plans for national franchising, hiring a new CEO to direct the process. The bagel concept recently hired Tory Bartlett as chief executive officer, who brings experience as chief brand officer of Moe's Southwest Grill. Bartlett has also held leadership roles at Schlotzsky’s and Southern Proper Hospitality, according to a news release.
