BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — The eleven miles and 318 turns between the start of the Tail of the Dragon in Blount County and where it ends in North Carolina are some of the most popular in all of East Tennessee. Law enforcement said they can be dangerous, too, which is why they're asking people to exercise caution if they take a ride this summer. "Take it slow, ride your game," Blount County Sheriff's Office Lt. Randy Ailey, with the Traffic Safety Division, said.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — A patron at the ribbon cutting of the new Blount County Public Library robotic book drop said it best. "It's like a Dollywood ride for books," the person said, after trying it for the first time. The library held a ribbon cutting on Tuesday for its new book return, aptly named the "Bookie Monster." It's different than a traditional book drop, where patrons drop materials through a chute from outside the library, into a bin inside the library.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The people who love Madison Hoese have waited a long time to find out if both teens charged in her March 2024 death would be sent out of Blount County's Juvenile Court and tried in Blount County's Circuit Court. On Wednesday, Judge Kenlyn Foster ruled that Sebastian Jones, who was 16 years old at the time of Hoese's death, would be transferred to adult court. Jones will join Maddex Forsythe, another teen charged in Hoese's death, in the adult court system.
