Children ages 1-8 can dress in their pajamas and slippers and join Santa and his helpers for some holiday fun Sunday at the Fred C. Hohnke Community Center, 2600 Center Drive, Woodridge. Expectations don’t change at Riverside-Brookfield. Regardless of roster turnover, the Bulldogs expect to compete for a conference title and win 20 games. Thus far, the Bulldogs are on course for both goals, winning their Metro Suburban opener against Elmwood Park on Dec. 8Riverside-Brookfield coach Mike Reingruber said his team is pointing in the right direction. Despite a big changeover on their roster, the Bulldogs (7-1, 1-0) are on track for another 20-win season.

ELMHURST – Hinsdale Central interim girls basketball coach Ryan Sasis laughed at his mistake during halftime of Friday’s road game against York. The Red Devils’ entire coaching staff and players were late for the start of the third quarter. After the whistle sounded to start the third quarter, the Red Devils were still in their locker room. A York employee went into the hallway locker room to inform Sasis and his players about their tardiness.

Minooka Community High School senior Rylee Anderson, the daughter of Robert and Kristie Anderson, has been named the Channahon-Minooka Rotary Club Student of the Month for December. Anderson maintains a 4.17 grade point average in the classroom, landing on the high honor roll, participating in the National Honor Society and participating in several activities like Interact Club, Student Council, International Thespians, Student Athletic/Activities Leadership Team and various theater productions.
