Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault on a teenage girl at Lower Main Street in Ballybofey on Wednesday afternoon. The teenager was reportedly hospitalised following the incident, which occured at 6.30pm. The funeral of a man who was found dead at his home in Killybegs will be held on Easter Sunday,Eddie Friel, who was aged in his 60s and lived at Harbour View Drive was found dead at his home on Sunday, April 13. A man was arrested and has since appeared in court in connection to Mr Friel’s death following a garda investigation. Mr Friel’s remains are reposing at McBrearty’s Funeral Home, Killybegs today and tomorrow from 4pm to 8pm.

By Róise CollinsA LETTERKENNY pensioner says he is facing the prospect of homelessness as pressure mounts from Donegal County Council to remove the mobile home he has been living in for more than a decade. Desmond Morrison, who is 78 years old, moved into the mobile home in the Glebe area of Letterkenny after the roof of his family home collapsed. Since then, the original house has fallen into severe disrepair, with trees now growing up through its foundations.

A man has been arrested this morning in relation to the discovery of a body in Co Donegal over the weekend. The body was discovered in Killybegs on Sunday at about 12.20pm, when gardaí and emergency services responded to a report of man found unresponsive at a residence on Harbour View Drive. The man, aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.
