In the early days of his recruitment, the offensive lineman from Biloxi, Mississippi, would often message coaches on social media, inviting them to watch his film and evaluate him as a prospect. Many messages fell upon deaf ears, but the ones that didn’t became meaningful. Nebraska’s director of player personnel, Keith Williams, was one who was willing to listen.

Memorial Stadium’s newly installed field turf had been laid just in time for over 300 high schoolers to make it their own. Nebraska hosted the first Matt Rhule Football Camp of the summer on Sunday, splitting action between the Hawks Championship Center and Memorial Stadium on a warm 86-degree afternoon in Lincoln. The day’s football action represented the debut event for a Memorial Stadium playing surface which now prominently features red end zones.

The Matt Rhule Football Camps allow the Nebraska football coaching staff to instruct players through drills and get an up-close look at prospects who could become future Huskers.
