CHICAGO — Uber customers who were wrongfully charged city congestion fees are now getting their money back. The rideshare company has begun issuing refunds to customers who were errantly hit with the city’s $1.50 congestion surcharge for rides to and from Downtown. Uber added the surcharge outside the 6 a.m.-10 p.m. window, when the surcharge is to be in effect, in what the company called an “internal error.”The extra charges have been levied since January.

CHICAGO — Former alderman Edwin Eisendrath said he owns plenty of jackets. So he didn’t think much about it when he left his green down jacket over a young man sleeping on the Blue Line train Friday. “He was sprawled across three uncomfortable seats, his jeans were ripped, shoes too big for his feet, and it was cold out,” Eisendrath said. “He was clearly in need, so I gave him my coat.”What Eisendrath didn’t know is he was being filmed as he made his way to O’Hare Airport for a wedding in Virginia.
