CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A resolution on the agenda for Cuyahoga County Council proposes pulling the sheriff’s department’s downtown patrol unit for good. The sponsors of the resolution have expressed concerns about the March 28 pursuit by deputies that led to a horrific crash and ultimately killed two people. The chase began downtown when they attempted to pull over an erratic driver who fled onto I-90 and slammed into another vehicle on Eddy Road.

CANTON, Ohio (WOIO/Gray News) – A gender reveal in Ohio ended with a man in handcuffs. On Sunday evening in Canton, Andrew Soliday revved up his bright green muscle car and did a burnout, revealing blue smoke behind him to signify the couple was having a baby boy. As his car took off down the street, Canton police spotted him. Several officers stopped Soliday and approached the car with guns drawn. “It’s a gender reveal,” Soliday can be heard telling the officers.

CLEVELAND (WOIO/Gray News) - A Cleveland family is facing an awful reality, knowing a baby will have to grow up without his dad, after a 19-year-old father-to-be was shot and killed on his birthday. Juaquim Torres, 19, was shot and killed around 7:10 p.m. Friday while walking home to celebrate his birthday in Cleveland. He was left to die on a sidewalk, WOIO reports.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - A 19-year-old man was shot and killed on East 55th near Cobleigh Court at around 7:10 p.m. Friday has been identified as Jauquim Torres. Torres was walking home to celebrate his birthday on April 11 when he was shot and left to die on a sidewalk. Cleveland EMS tells 19 News Torres was pronounced dead at the scene. On Sunday, his family and close friends gathered at a memorial set up in the spot where he took his last breath.
