UPTOWN — The landmark protected building in Uptown that’s home to the world famous Green Mill is up for sale. The building on the northwest corner of Broadway and Lawrence Avenue is home to several other businesses, including Birrieria Zaragoza, Le Nocturne and Carmela’s Taqueria. But it’s the Green Mill that draws people from all over the world. The lounge is over 100 years old and is known for being a hangout spot for Al Capone and others during Prohibition.

UPTOWN — A studio offering dance and art classes for kids is now open in Uptown. Uptown neighbor Morgan Maxon opened My Art House Studio this month at 1255 W. At My Art House Studio, kids can try out a variety of dance and art styles, Maxon said.

UPTOWN — When Katie Rames was told 14 years ago she’d never be able to run again, she thought that meant finishing a long-distance race was out of the question. CITY HALL — Housing and tenants’ rights advocates are praising the reintroduction of an ordinance at City Hall they say will help curb the effects of displacement. The Just Cause for Eviction Ordinance, sponsored by Ald. Desmon Yancy (5th), would require Chicago landlords to give a reason for terminating or not renewing a tenant’s lease, according to the legislation. It was introduced to City Council Wednesday.
