A man in his 70s has died in a four-vehicle collision in Co Wexford. The incident occurred on the N25 at Orristown at approximately 5.15pm on Tuesday. The driver of one of the vehicles, a male in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to University Hospital Waterford. Gardaí say a postmortem examination will take place in due course. No other injuries were reported. The road will remain partially closed overnight.

Five men have been arrested in a major operation involving over 100 Gardaí, targeting an organised crime group in the west Dublin area. The arrests follow the abduction and torture of another man in recent days. A man has died and another man has been hospitalised following a serious public order incident in Dublin city centre in the early hours of Saturday morning. It is understood the incident occurred on South Anne Street, Dublin 2, following a row between two groups of people out socialising. One of the men, who was injured during the incident, was taken by ambulance to St James's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Gardaí say a second man is being treated for his injuries in hospital.

A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Dublin on Sunday night, leaving one man hospitalised. Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of an incident at the entrance to the car park of a licensed premises on Clonsilla Road, Dublin 15, shortly after 11pm. A man in his 40s sustained serious injuries during the incident. He was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, where he remains in a critical condition.
