LAKEWOOD TOWNSHIP, Minn. — On the evening of April 9, 2025, a house fire broke out around 5:53 p.m. in the 3200 block of Beach Street in Lakewood Township. The home was completely destroyed, though no people were injured. Sadly, a cat died in the fire. Multiple fire departments responded to the scene, including Lakewood, Duluth, Air Guard, Gnesen, Normanna, and Rice Lake fire departments. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the blaze.
