Local talk show taking an uplifting look at Twin Ports life by providing news & info relevant to our area. C. Reiss celebrated the grand opening of its new dock facility in Superior. The project broke ground back in 2023 and cost almost $22 million to build. The new location in Superior will be bigger than their Duluth facility, allowing more commodities to be put on each ship, which could mean more jobs for the Twin Ports.

It's been said that Twin Ports has one of the longest lilac seasons in the world- and Lilac Lovefest is dedicated to proving it. Lilac Lovefest kicks off Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31, with the Din & Gin train. You’ll take a seat in the dome car and enjoy some heavy hors d’oeuvres. The train departs from The Depot at 6 p.m., but the fun continues throughout June and July. Tickets are still available as of Tuesday.

The Proctor American Legion observed its 102nd Memorial Day on Monday. As the audience gathered at the community center, the Proctor band played, and Mayor Chad Ward shared some opening remarks. The Keynote Speaker was Whitney Olsen, a Proctor native and the 148th Fighter Wing Senior NCO of the Year. Minnesota representative Natalie Zeleznikar also spoke.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has awarded Duluth Public Schools a $274,211 grant to plan safe routes to school. The school district will begin planning, with the help of the Arrowhead Economic Regional Development Commission, for each of the 13 traditional school buildings. “We are excited to receive this grant and begin this important planning process,” said Andie Heil, Safe Routes to School Coordinator for Duluth Public Schools.

Check out the new Lava to Lakes exhibit at the Great Lakes Aquarium that shares more about Duluth's prehistoric history. The new Great Lakes Aquarium exhibit opens Friday, just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Lava to Lakes tells Minnesota’s origin story. The region was once covered by giant, ancient seas. The new creatures in the exhibit are modern-day counterparts to the ancient animals that once filled this land. Guests get close enough to touch sharks, skates, and moon jellyfish.
