WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Law enforcement officials have confirmed with News 13 that there has been another suicide at Asheville Academy. This is the second suicide in a month at the Weaverville facility, which, according to its website, is "a residential treatment center for girls ages 10-14 and 14-18, on a case-by-case basis." The facility is located at 530 Upper Flat Creek Road. The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that the second suicide happened on May 29.

BREVARD, N.C. (WLOS) — Brevard Police Chief Tom Jordan said bullying and assaults among teens will not be tolerated after a 14-year-old boy was assaulted and robbed in a Franklin Park bathroom on May 25. Seven juveniles between the ages of 14 and 17 now face charges after the incident. Two of them face charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon after, Chief Jordan said, they used their bodies as a deadly weapon to kick and beat the 14-year-old victim.
