Camp Restore Hope emerged on Broad and Main Streets to aid Hurricane Helene victims with free food and supplies. The facility is located on a private lot near the Pigeon River, with the owner's permission, and operates with several volunteers. The facility received temporary permits from the town to operate and serve emergency needs in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

Local leaders want these trees removed to protect the public in future storms. Woody debris has sat on the bank of the Pigeon River in Clyde since Helene hit in September 2024. This debris would be dangerous if it were still in the river because during Helene, the water level rose above the Charles Street bridge.
