Eric Peterson, 37, is charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Brandon Kjenstand on May 5, Pawtucket police said. Police say a 2-year-old boy was in his mother's arms when she also was shot. She is in stable condition in an area hospital. PAWTUCKET – The 37-year-old Pawtucket man charged in a homicide is also accused of felony assault on a 2-year-old boy, according to a court record.

PROVIDENCE — A man who allegedly shot his brother on the evening of Saturday, May 3, was arrested the following day, according to the Providence police. The 29-year-old man who was shot was in stable condition, said Providence police Detective Maj. David Lapatin. The shooting took place inside a home on East Drive in the Wanskuck neighborhood at 8:15 p.m.The man who was arrested faces charges of domestic felony assault, shooting in a compact area and felony assault with a firearm, Lapatin said.

Providence firefighters will again provide emergency medical response with bicycles. The bike program, which allows EMTs to arrive at the scene faster than fire rescue transports, is in its third season. Bike patrol EMTs carry a wide range of equipment and are able to treat heart attacks, start IVs, supply oxygen and administer Narcan to reverse overdoses, among other treatments.
