CHICAGO (WLS) -- Multiple Chinese nationals have now been charged by federal authorities with smuggling a potential agroterrorism weapon into the country. Those charges center on a fungus that can blight crops, according to the Department of Justice, and can cripple food security and the economy. In two separate cases, three Chinese biological researchers are accused by the FBI of taking part in the smuggling operation to sneak unlawful material into the United States, the ABC7 I-Team has learned.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- An Illinois U.S. congressman has launched a formal inquiry following an ABC7 I-Team report on illegal weapons and gun parts entering the Chicago area allegedly from China through the O'Hare International Airport Postal Processing Center. In February, the I-Team reported on the concerning flow of ghost guns, gun parts, Glock switches and contraband coming into the Chicago area from companies in China.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The suspect in an alleged targeted antisemitic deadly shooting in the nation's capital flew with his alleged murder weapon out of O'Hare airport Wednesday, court documents show. Elias Rodriguez, 31, of Chicago flew from O'Hare to Reagan National in Virginia. He declared his firearm in checked baggage on the Wednesday flight. He also bought a ticket three hours before it started to the Washington, D.C. event the couple he allegedly killed attended, according to the FBI.
