MADISON - A couple of Wisconsin receivers announced their departure from the program Tuesday evening. Quincy Burroughs, a redshirt junior, and Mark Hamper, a redshirt sophomore, posted announcements of their departures on X. The spring period transfer portal begins Wednesday and closes April 25. AdvertisementBurroughs has played his entire career for Luke Fickell, spending one season under the Badgers head coach at Cincinnati before transferring to Wisconsin for the 2023 season.

MADISON – The dog days of spring ball are here. The Wisconsin football team held its 11th spring practice Tuesday morning and the way coach Luke Fickell saw it, the session was a grind. The coach admitted the team had less energy and emotion than he wanted but also feels the team is on track to accomplish the goals set for the spring. “We’re where we need to be,” he said.

MADISON – Kevin Heywood was Wisconsin’s heir apparent to replace Jack Nelson at left tackle. Now the Badgers will have to go to Plan B. UW coach Luke Fickell said after practice Tuesday morning that Heywood, a sophomore from Limerick, Pennsylvania, suffered an ACL injury. The injury to his left knee occurred during practice last Thursday. Advertisement"Obviously I think he's going to have to have surgery," Fickell said.

MADISON – In becoming the women’s basketball coach at Wisconsin, Robin Pingeton took over a team that has a lot of holes to fill before the upcoming season. There were six players on the roster when she took over. Include the two players the Badgers signed in December and Pingeton started with seven spots to fill in order for the team to have a full 15-player roster for the 2025-26 season. MADISON – It’s only April, but the Wisconsin football program secured a key commitment to its 2026 class. Ryan Hopkins, a quarterback from California, told On3 Sunday night that he committed to the Badgers. He is the fifth known player to committed to UW in that class. Hopkins comes with some cache. He is considered a four star recruit by Rivals. On3 and 247sports listed him as a three-star prospect.
