MADISON – The Xavier Lucas saga is far from over. Yahoo Sports reported June 20 that the University of Wisconsin and its NIL collective, the Varsity Collective, are suing the University of Miami for what is termed tortious interference with the former Badgers cornerback who is now a part of the Miami Hurricanes football team. AdvertisementThe Journal Sentinel obtained a copy of the 23-page complaint filed in Dane County Circuit Court on June 20.

MADISON – The first weekend in December will once again determine bragging rights in the state’s most anticipated men’s basketball rivalry. Wisconsin vs. Marquette is set for Dec. 6 at the Kohl Center, the schools announced June 20. The tip-off time and broadcast information will be announced later. AdvertisementThis will mark the fifth straight season the Badgers and Golden Eagles play on the first weekend of December if you count the rivals’ Friday night battle in 2020.

MADISON – One of the state’s top high school football prospects in the 2027 class announced an offer from Wisconsin on June 17. He comes with an impressive bloodline. Ethan McIntosh, a 6-foot-7, 240-pound offensive lineman from Verona High School, announced his Badgers offer on X and Instagram. McIntosh’s father is Wisconsin director of athletics Chris McIntosh, who, as Badgers fans know, was an All-American left tackle for UW during his playing days.

MADISON – The Wisconsin football program got Zion Legree on campus this weekend, and judging by the results, made a heck of an impression. On3 reported on June 15 that the 6-foot-1, 195-pound athlete from Florida committed to the Badgers. The news comes after Legree completed an official visit to the UW campus this weekend. During Legree’s visit he re-connected with Badger quarterback Danny O’Neil, who played 7-on-7 ball with him a couple of years ago.
