OGDENSBURG — The Oswegatchie Pump Station, built in 1868, will soon be recognized with a National Register of Historic Places sign. City Historian Julie Madlin, through the William G. Pomeroy Foundation, has obtained a sign at no cost for the city of Ogdensburg to commemorate the designation of the Oswegatchie Pumping Station, also known as the Pump House, to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Following a public hearing Monday night, City Council authorized the sale of the 2.73-acre parcel to the city school district for $1. OGDENSBURG — The Ogdensburg City School Board of Education has adopted a $56 million budget for the 2025-2026 school year that will go before voters in May. The proposed budget of $56,092,979, an increase of $831,774 from the 2024-2025 spending plan, was approved by the Board of Education at its meeting on March 24. The board will hold a public hearing on May 7 at 6 p.m. in OFA’s cafeteria B, prior to the public budget vote on May 20. The budget proposal calls for a 2.49% tax levy increase.

At a special meeting Thursday evening, City Council chose Tebo, a retired teacher from the Ogdensburg City School District and longtime coach, to fill Michael Weaver’s seat for the remainder of the year. Weaver resigned March 10 after moving outside of the city.

OGDENSBURG — The city is mourning Bonita “Bonnie” Anne Wright, a respected business leader and supporter of the Ogdensburg community. Wright, the former CEO of Pepsi-Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers, died Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Home at the age of 71. “On behalf of the City of Ogdensburg, I extend condolences to Bonnie Wright’s family at this time of loss. Citizens of Ogdensburg and the North Country truly benefited from Bonnie’s life in our city,” Mayor Michael J. Tooley wrote in a statement Thursday.
