OGDENSBURG — To cut down on unruly behavior during the evening hours, the City Council has approved an ordinance amendment that would close down the Paterson Street and Greenbelt boat launches and parking lots from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., with the exception of vehicles with boat trailers. The City Council amended the ordinance in an attempt to end the issues of drinking, littering and the squealing of tires at the two boat launches following a public hearing.

A phone message for the clinic states that they are no longer taking appointments but that records can still be obtained. OGDENSBURG — The Elsa M. Luksich Municipal Pool will open for the summer season on Thursday and will remain open until an undetermined time in August. The pool is open to the general public Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. The pool is closed on Mondays for maintenance and cleaning. Thanks to a generous donation from the St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, public swimming will be free this summer.

Running on the Republican and Conservative lines are incumbents Daniel E. Skamperle and Michael B. Powers. Running on both the Democratic and Independent Voices for Reason line are John Tebo and Wendy Hamilton. Skamperle is the longest tenured member of City Council, having served four terms after being first elected in 2009.

Seaway Festival Queens Pageant Saturday in Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG — This weekend, a queen and her court will be crowned. The Seaway Festival Queen Pageant will take place Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Ogdensburg Free Academy auditorium. Admission is $5 per person, and children 12 and younger are admitted free of charge. Currently, there are 13 contestants in four divisions, ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade from across St. Lawrence County.
