    Birmingham’s Rickwood Field has received a special commemorative plaque from Major League Baseball that will soon be on display at the historic park. The metal marker commemorates last summer’s MLB at Rickwood game between the San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals that paid tribute to the legacy of the Negro Leagues. The plaque arrived at Rickwood on Thursday and caught the staff by surprise.

Royal Ranch House is currently under construction on Crestwood Boulevard in Irondale and will offer a wide variety of fast food favorites along with a meat and three menu that changes daily. No opening date or timeline has been announced for Royal Ranch House but construction appears nearly complete on its storefront, which is inside the former Krystal’s on Crestwood Boulevard.

That decision came Wednesday during an Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Central Board Meeting. Protective Stadium in Birmingham will also remain in the rotation.
