KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A farm school in Raymore, Missouri, is going the nontraditional route when it comes to teaching preschoolers. The kids start their day with a lesson and a little reading, but then they go outside and spend several hours playing and learning outdoors. They feed milk to the lamb, gather eggs from the chickens, plant trees and vegetables, and learn all about nature. Amanda Myers, the founder of this school, believes kids learn best through outside play.

The six architects chosen as finalist for this $170 million project are sharing their ideas with Kansas City through a multi-media presentation. And Nelson-Atkins officials want you to give them your opinions as to which designs you like best. Every design is different. Some want to build a new wing onto the back of the museum, others want to build it on the side. The selection committee will pick the winning design later this spring, and your opinion could help shape their decision.

Guinness started collecting world records back in 1951. A Guinness Beer executive got into an argument with a friend over the fastest game bird and it sparked an idea. Why not write a book about world records to settle arguments?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A local youth choir is about to go on the trip of a lifetime. Conductor Ryan Main formed the Youth Chorus of Kansas City (YCKC) eight years ago to give kids more opportunities to sing outside of school. Kids from kindergarten to high school seniors can join the choir. They sing all types of songs and perform all over Kansas City. The middle and high school choir was recently invited to sing at Carnegie Hall this June, and they can’t wait to go.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ghost hunters from across the country are in Kansas City this weekend to share their paranormal adventures with you. It’s the first ever Missouri Paracon and it’s at the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City. There are 40 vendors on hand, concerts at night and talks by some famous ghost hunters. This was organized by the owner of Belvoir Winery in Liberty, which is said to be haunted. Many of the guests are on ghost hunting shows and they’ve experienced all kinds of paranormal activity.
