Both the Nebraska State Patrol and the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office have seen increased interest recently. “I think some people are beginning to look at this and go, ‘Hey, may not be that bad of a job, and we want to come do that,'” said Chief Lancaster County Deputy Ben Houchin.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – As the Lincoln Marathon approaches, city officials are going the distance to keep everyone safe. Around 7,000 runners will begin the race at 6:55 a.m. Sunday near Memorial Stadium. The course winds through Lincoln, showcasing the State Capitol building, the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, Holmes Lake and other notable locations. The Lincoln Police Department will be directing traffic along the runners’ route.
