1 INTRODUCTION Craniofacial malformations are an uncommon congenital disorder in dogs. When present, craniofacial malformations can vary in clinical severity, ranging from mild cosmetic defects such as cheiloschisis (cleft lip) to severe life-limiting defects such as choanal atresia.
