ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — When most folks think about some of the best pizza (in New York State, at least), they likely think of the classic large, thin, and foldable slices from the Big Apple. Well, in a twist, NYC did not take the cake (or, pizza pie in this case, I suppose) for best pizza city in the nation. In fact, it ranked No. 8! So, which U.S. city took the top spot? The answer is Rochester, according to a new report from Clever, an online data compiling and real estate website.

26 vehicles broken into at Brighton senior facility

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Several locked vehicles were broken into Thursday night at the Legacy at Clover Blossom on Mcauley Dr., according to the Brighton Police Department. The break-ins happened around 11 p.m. Thursday by an “unknown suspect(s),” according to police, who said 26 vehicles in total were damaged. As the investigation continues, police said it remains unclear whether anything was stolen from within the vehicles. No suspects are in custody.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A woman is dead after she was struck by a vehicle in Rochester Wednesday afternoon, according to police. Officers were called to the scene on North Winton Road near Hillside Avenue around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, where they found the victim critically injured. Life-saving aid was performed on the scene before the unidentified woman was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. She later died at the hospital.

Unfortunately, during practice for basketball prior to the start of this season, Craig broke his collarbone and was unable to return until the season was almost over. Being a senior as well, this was pretty heartbreaking.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The mother of a 3-month-old who was mauled to death by dogs in a Bidwell Terrace home pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the second degree on Wednesday. On Aug. 3, 2024, a three-month-old baby was attacked by two “pit-bull type dogs” in the home. Rochester Police found the boy suffering from severe trauma to his body. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester Police officer and two other people were hospitalized on Tuesday night after a crash on Monroe Avenue, according to police. Officers were called to the scene near Field Street around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators said that it appeared the RPD vehicle was struck by another vehicle when the officer attempted to make a turn while patrolling the area. The officer and two people from the other vehicle were hospitalized as a precaution, and complaints of pain.
