MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman who stopped to help relatives involved in a crash along Getwell last week said she was assaulted by a woman with a gun. The victim, who is still terrified by what happened, wanted to remain anonymous. She said she and her husband pulled over in the 1200 block of Getwell to make sure everyone was okay. She said her two relatives, who are minors, were involved in a wreck with the driver of a four-door blue car.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is facing more than 50 counts of animal cruelty after a cockfighting operation was discovered behind her Nutbush home Wednesday, police say. Perla Hernandez, 33, was also charged with two counts of cockfighting. According to the affidavit of complaint, Homeland Security was serving a search warrant at the house in the 1200 block of Weiner Road when they found dozens of roosters in the backyard.
