BARBERTON, Ohio (WJW) – Emergency crews responded to Barberton Tuesday afternoon for a report of a tree falling on a home. One person was killed. It happened at a home at Second Street and Wooster Road in Barberton between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m., according to officials. Firefighters could not make entry due to the debris. They called for a tree removal service and a technical rescue team.

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) – Three former East Cleveland police officers were sentenced Monday afternoon for corruption-related crimes that happened from 2020-2023. East Cleveland community members spoke out during the sentencing of former East Cleveland Commander Larry McDonald Monday morning. Back in January, McDonald was found guilty by a jury on charges of tampering with evidence, obstructing official business, and dereliction of duty, among others.

Over a hundred parents and community members attended the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s first “community input” meeting at Garrett Morgan High School on Thursday night. “It’s a difficult thing. I wouldn’t want to be part of a school that is closing. At the same time, I want my school to be maintained,” said Christopher Blue, a parent.
