MADISON (WKOW) -- A man is hurt after being shot in downtown Madison early Sunday morning, according to the Madison Police department. MPD reports the shooting happened on W. Gorham Street near State Street shortly before 3 a.m.Police report the shooting appears to have been targeted. The man who was shot is being treated at the hospital. Sunday afternoon, MPD said it had identified a person of interest, but that person is not in custody. MPD's Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the shooting.

ROXBURY, Wis. (WKOW) --As we head into the growing season, many farmers this year are dealing with drought impacts and higher costs to maintain crops. Mitch Breunig, the owner of Mystic Valley Dairy in Roxbury, Wisconsin, says his farm is one of many facing those challenges. "Right now, there's not a lot of moisture in the soil," Breunig explains. "There wasn't any snow melt, so the soil is really, really dry.

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (WKOW) -- Sun Prairie Fire crews and EMS responded to a fire Saturday night. According to a news release, a fire was reported in a home on the 700 block of Edgemoor Drive near Effingham Way around 7:40 p.m.Battalion Chief Christopher Reese says the first crews reported smoke on the 2nd floor, and confirmed no one was in the house. He says due to a quick response, the fire was contained to a bathroom. No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

They are now using those funds to explore transportation options and study the transportation needs of the residents. JANESVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Department of Justice is investigating after a Janesville police officer shot and killed a suspect Friday night. The DOJ's Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) says the suspect was armed and there was a firearm located at the scene. According to DCI, the Janesville Police Department responded to a 911 call around 9:55 p.m. regarding an armed subject in the 1200 block of N. Parker Street.

Tanisha Harbert opened Chanell Ardor Schools of Beauty and Culture on Madison's south side in 2017. Since then, she's been working to teach aspiring stylists and cosmetologists how to be confident and capable of providing quality service to everyone-no matter their skin color or hair texture.
