Ruth Riehart, 95, of Pampa, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 in Pampa. Memorial services are pending with Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. Ruth was born on November 28, 1928 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Dewey Manila and Hazel Mariah Kindred Parker. She was the oldest of five children. Ruth attended high school in El Paso before continuing her education at the University of Tulsa.

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) is announcing the latest round of recipients for the Tennessee Urban Farm and Forestry (TUFF) cost share program. The funding will contribute to production increases for small farming and forestry businesses and increase access to nutritious food in Tennessee’s urban areas. “This cost share funding is essential for strengthening Tennessee's agricultural economy,” Agriculture Commissioner Charlie Hatcher, D.V.M. said.

Two teens had apparently been shooting at bottles in a wooded area in Bolingbrook, which led to the soft lockdown of an elementary school that was nearby, police said. About 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers were sent to Winston Woods Park, 200 Winston Drive, for a report of gunshots, according to Bolingbrook Police Department. The park is across the street from Wood View Elementary School, 197 Winston Drive. The school was placed on soft lockdown.

DIXON – Two former workers at the Jack Mabley Developmental Center in Dixon are facing felony charges in connection with battering two residents in two separate incidents, in one case breaking a man’s nose. According to the charging document, mental health technician Ashley M. Flores, 35, of Sterling, punched a female resident of the home for the intellectually and developmentally disabled on June 22, 2022.
