At least 10 construction workers were detained by federal immigration officials at a private construction site near Newport, Vermont, according to the nonprofit Vermont Asylum Assistance Project. The group said the workers were reportedly all working with authorization as subcontractors through Patriot Building Systems of Londonderry, New Hampshire. They said at least five of the individuals were carrying proof of status when they were detained.

Active manhunt is going on for two inmates that DOC officers say escaped sometime overnight. Here's what we know. The two inmates were unaccounted for during the 5:30 a.m. bed check. They are convicted murderers all day. DOC and state police have been conducting road checks, checking in vehicles, looking for these two men. And then just moments ago dozens of DOC and state police troopers went into the woods off of Smith Street behind me just feet away from the correctional facility.

A Rhode Island man accused of leading police on a chase through Vermont's Northeast Kingdom and shooting at officers was charged Friday by a federal grand jury. Last July, police said Border Patrol agents attempted to pull over Brenden Sackal in New Hampshire. Sackal then led them on a chase into Vermont, ending in Burke.
