No. 11 Ole Miss scored six runs before an out was recorded in the first inning Saturday against South Carolina and seven in the inning overall — highlighted by a grand slam from sophomore catcher Austin Fawley — and the Rebels avoided a series sweep with a 12-2 win in seven innings at Founders Park. The win snaps the Rebels’ (28-12, 10-8 SEC) four-game losing streak. Ole Miss has now surpassed last season’s win total.

South Carolina starter Jake McCoy surrendered three hits in 6 1/3 innings of work against No. 11 Ole Miss Friday afternoon, and the Gamecocks clinched their first SEC series of the season with a 7-2 win over the Rebels at Founders Park. Ole Miss (27-12, 9-8 SEC) has lost four-straight games and its last two SEC series. Senior Riley Maddox pitched 2 1/3 innings for the Rebels and allowed three earned runs. He struck out three batters, walked three and made three wild pitches.

South Carolina starting pitcher Brandon Stone pitched a complete game against No. 11 Ole Miss Thursday night as the Gamecocks won the series opener with the Rebels 3-2. It’s Ole Miss’ (27-11, 9-7 SEC) third loss in a row. Sophomore catcher Austin Fawley hit a solo home run in the top of the third inning, his fourth home run in as many games he has played in. He has hit 10 home runs this season, which is tied for second-most on the team with senior left fielder Mitchell Sanford.

Tennessee’s Reese Chapman hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the ninth inning Sunday afternoon off junior reliever Brayden Jones in a decisive three-run inning as the No. 5 Volunteers clinched the series over the No. 6 Rebels with a 10-8 win.
