Windsor High School Senior Frank DiGuilio has had quite the journey throughout high school, going from having attendance issues during his first few years to finding a passion for music that helped change his life. "I had no idea where I was going. And pretty much my attendance suffered suffering. It really did. And people people express their concern with that. It really went on until junior year," DiGuilio said.

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier teamed up with UHS once again this year for the 19th annual Empty Bowls Lunch event earlier today. For $25, people enjoyed a full course meal and take home a homemade pottery piece from a variety of 400 pieces done by over 35 potters. All funds raised today support the Food Bank of the Southern Tier and the UHS Foundation Stop Hunger Fund.

Bell-to-Bell is the name of the statewide, in-school cell phone ban Governor Kathy Hochul has been pushing for, with the goal of making classrooms distraction-free and improving students' focus. Over in the Maine-Endwell School District, Superintendent Jason Van Fossen said the district is open to the rule.

Local officials came together today to celebrate the 123rd anniversary of the date of birth of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, or the Rebbe, on April 9. The Rebbe is regarded as the most influential rabbi in modern history, establishing over 6000 educational centers in every state and over 100 countries. Officials proclaimed April 9th as "Education and Sharing Day" throughout Broome County, the 19th Congressional District, and the 123rd Assembly District.

On Friday, April 4, former Instructor for the NASA Apollo Mission Simulators Frank Hughes spoke at Binghamton museum "TechWorks!" regarding his experience working on the Apollo Space Missions. Hughes is no stranger when it comes to Aerospace Craft and Missions, first starting at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida in 1966. "I got there at this first day that a truck from Binghamton arrived with the first piece of the Apollo simulator. And so I just grew up with the simulator," Hughes said.
