As expected, the cowboy-hat clad Redding City Council on Tuesday night gave unanimous approval to a long-term lease for the Redding Rodeo Association. "Can I get a yee-haw?" asked Mayor Jack Munns before the discussion and vote. The proposal includes a 25-year lease of the city-owned property near the Redding Civic Auditorium. If the rodeo's leadership at that time approves, the lease can be extended for 10 years and, after that, for another 10 years.

The program aims to increase ridership and provide affordable transportation options when RABA buses aren't running.
