A retired couple have been living in a caravan and hotels for 18 months after repeated flooding at their bungalow. Michael and Christine Cooper, from Brading, Isle of Wight, blamed highway drainage and a build-up of river silt for the problems since September 2022. The Environment Agency said the island had experienced its "heaviest rainfall in decades due to climate change". Island Roads said the site was in a low-lying area that was vulnerable to flooding from the Eastern Yar river.

A woman who had her eggs frozen wants to "remove the shame" surrounding it among the Asian community. Kohinoor Sahota said she made the decision after being made redundant and becoming single during the pandemic. "I felt like I wasn't just mourning the loss of a partner but the loss of a potential family", she said.

Lucy Nathanson is a specialist on selective mutism and is on a mission to raise awareness of the issue. The condition affects one in every 140 children. Ms Nathanson said that it could be overcome and children needed help "to do that tiny little step more than they could in the past".
