After a man walked into the vestibule of Scott County Jail with what he said was a bomb, a suspect was in custody and the bomb squad was checking out the package, according to law enforcement at the scene. A call came in at 8:36 p.m. when the man was denied entrance to the jail. Scott County Sheriff Tim Lane told Our Quad Cities News crew that the man spoke with the jail staff in the jail control room. He said he had a bomb, so they did not allow him inside.

An ambulance transported a man from the scene. Our Quad Cities News crew saw damage that indicated the vehicle may have driven down the bike path into the pit.

The Davenport City Council has passed a resolution to allocate money to organizations that serve the community. (Mike Colón, OurQuadCities.com)On Wednesday, council members approved money from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for Humility Homes and Services, Vera French, Project NOW and the redevelopment of the west end of the city, as well as the Rockingham Corridor. They amended the resolution to enable each alderman and the mayor $10,000 to spend on community projects of their choice.
