The union representing teachers outside of Chicago says President Donald Trump administration's cuts to the U.S. Department of Education will have a major impact on Illinois schools. President of Illinois Education Association Al Llorens says that includes almost 300,000 students in the state covered under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. He also says the cuts will hurt thousands of poor students receiving additional support in school and Pell grants for college.

Police in west suburban Stone Park have released a person they describe as a suspect in a shooting at a nightclub that killed a 21-year-old Chicago woman who was dancing at the club with her boyfriend. Investigators say a security guard at the Mansion Live nightclub, 3801 W. Lake Street, fired a gun during a fight inside the club early on the morning of March 8. A bullet from that gun killed Zulma Pacheco. Police say she was not involved in the fight.

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Another woman has been sexually assaulted in a Northwest Side neighborhood that's already on edge over similar crimes. Chicago Police said a 23-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in a car near Palmer and Kedzie in Logan Square Sunday at around 2 a.m. This is the fourth such assault so far this year in the neighborhood.

GLENVIEW (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A pedestrian hit by a police car in north suburban Glenview Tuesday morning has died. The crash happened just after 5 a.m. Tuesday, before the sun came up, on a stretch of Milwaukee Avenue, north of Golf Road, where there are fast food restaurants and other businesses. Glenview Police said a Cook County Sheriff's Department SUV hit a pedestrian. The 28-year-old Chicago woman was taken to the hospital where she died Wednesday afternoon.
