BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) — A person was transported to a hospital by helicopter after falling off a roof in Beaufort Friday, emergency services said. Emergency services were dispatched to a person who had reportedly fell off a roof at approximately three stories up just after 2 p.m., City of Beaufort/Town of Port Royal Fire Department said. The fall resulted in a head injury. A CARE Flight helicopter was requested and flew the person to a nearby trauma hospital within 40 minutes, officials said.

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WSAV) — A 17-year-old was arrested and charged after allegedly shooting at a vehicle with a family member and a 5-year-old child inside. Valdosta Police Officers reportedly responded to the area of the 800 block of Barack Obama Boulevard on Wednesday, June 4, just after midnight to reports of gunshots.

STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) picked up “a few” individuals in Statesboro Friday morning, according to the Bulloch Sheriff’s Office. Those arrested were taken to Savannah for processing, Capt. Todd Hutchens said. ICE was reportedly in Statesboro Friday morning but left around 8:30 a.m.Three Mexican restaurants announced they were closed on Friday, with plans to reopen on Saturday.

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Three people have been indicted on murder charges for the 2023 shooting deaths of two people. Vaquez Lisan Coleman, Harold Jakarius Roberson and Joshua Ishmer Reddick are charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and criminal attempt to commit a felony. The charges are linked to the shooting deaths of 16-year-old Semaj Floyd and 20-year-old Omarion Whitfield.

DOUGLAS, Ga. (WSAV) — Almost 20 years ago, a woman was found shot and killed in Coffee County. Tuesday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced her husband, 58-year-old Jon Worrell was arrested and charged with her death. Doris Worrell was found dead inside their local business, Jon’s Sports Park, on Sept. 20, 2006, officials said. Jon reportedly told officials that he had left the business to run errands and Doris had stayed to clean.
