SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - The City of Savannah received a $125,000 grant to grow nutrition access and education. The funding is from the African American Mayors Association and in partnership with the American Beverage Foundation. The City of Savannah says the money will go to local initiatives that promote access to healthy foods, improve nutrition education and address affordability in underserved communities.

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - Police in Beaufort are investigating a shooting at the Garden Oaks Apartments in Beaufort. The department says there was a heavy police presence around 9:00 Thursday night. SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - St. Joseph’s/Candler awarded the 32nd Annual McAuley Award to nurse and resource coordinator Celia Dequito during a Thursday ceremony. Her peers noted her selflessness and dedication, especially during the recent, rare January snowstorm. One of her co-workers called Dequito “the most selfless person I have ever met.” They also gave an example of Dequito’s commitment during the January 2025 snowstorm.

HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - Over the last few hours we’ve received mixed reports on the status of four 3rd Infantry Division soldiers in Lithuania. The soldiers went missing during a training exercise in western Lithuania, the home base for the 3rd ID is in Fort Stewart. These soldiers are all with the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart. We know they were taking part in tactical training in Lithuania.
