A house fire broke out early Monday morning in northern Tehama County, displacing four residents. The fire was reported around 3 a.m. on Jewell Road, off Bowman Road. Several engines responded to the scene, where flames and smoke were visible coming from a two-story home, according to Cal Fire's Tehama-Glenn Unit. Crews were able to contain the flames on the exterior of the house within minutes, preventing the fire from spreading further, before moving inside to extinguish the blaze.

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — The body of an elderly person was recovered from a canal in Shasta County on Sunday evening following a report of a possible drowning. At 8:36 p.m. on Sunday night, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said their deputies responded to the area of Coleman Forebay Road in Cottonwood after being alerted that an elderly male had fallen into the water while they were walking with a friend along the Coleman canal.
