    DETROIT LAKES — The Detroit Lakes adapted bowling team saw 10 athletes have a shot at being state champions. After this season, the future of the program is in doubt as Voyager Lanes is set to be demolished , leaving the bowlers without their opportunity to be student-athletes. For three years, Scott “Pep” Piepkorn has been at the helm, driving the athletes to Voyager Lanes during the nearly two-month-long season. Ethan Walz had brought Piepkorn on board as the two wanted to take over the team.

    DETROIT LAKES — Whistling gusts of wind and a feels-like temperature hovering around 30 degrees is a weather forecast you hear during the winter months. The Perham girls golf team had to battle the conditions for the Heart O’ Lakes Conference championship on Monday, May 19 at Wildflower Golf Course. The unusual May weather created a difficult playing field with higher-than-normal scores. But the Yellowjackets managed a third-place finish with a team score of 397 (+109).

    WACONIA — Minnesota high school baseball fans gathered at Lion's Field for Baseball Day Minnesota 2025 on Saturday, May 17. The Perham baseball team was part of a four-game slate with the best teams in the state across all classes. The Yellowjackets faced off with Class AA's No. 1-ranked team and the 2024 state champion Rockford.
