But life doesn’t work that way and Detloff will raise a pop for becoming the Yellowjackets’ all-time wins leader on Tuesday, April 22. Detloff went six innings, striking out eight, walking five and allowing one hit and a run in a 10-1 win in Game 1 against Staples-Motley (3-4).

Swinging into 2025 with three consecutive first-place finishes, the Lakers attributed their dominance to a state championship work ethic and competition among themselves. Detroit Lakes continued its winning ways at its first Central Lakes Conference meet at Detroit Country Club on Monday, April 21.

The Perham boys and girls secured first-place finishes for the second consecutive home meet at the Perham High School Invite on Tuesday, April 15.

DETROIT LAKES — The Detroit Lakes boys golf team hosted a boatload of Fargo teams and Pine River-Backus at its Early Bird Invite on Tuesday, April 15, at Lakeview Golf Course. The Lakers braved the windy and cool conditions to secure a first-place finish, shooting a team score of 256. West Fargo finished in second place with a team score of 265. Freshman Tyson Eckhoff shot a team and meet best 5-under-par 59, just two strokes off the course record 57 set in 1997.
