Swinging into 2025 with three consecutive first-place finishes, the Lakers attributed their dominance to a state championship work ethic and competition among themselves.     DETROIT LAKES — The city of Detroit Lakes will be installing a camera at City Park following concerns about park behavior brought forward by Park View Street resident Lynn Schulberg at the March 11 City Council meeting. Schulberg first addressed the council about City Park in 2023, upset by some of the behavior she and her neighbors were witnessing and at times on the receiving end of, according to Schulberg.

    DETROIT LAKES — In what one longtime board member called an “internal coup,” a bare majority of the Pelican River Watershed Board last month unexpectedly voted to essentially gut a big chunk of the district’s regulatory authority and turn it over to zoning offices in Becker County and Detroit Lakes. On the majority side were Board Vice President Laurie Olson, secretary Chris Jasken, treasurer Charles Jasken and manager Scott Busker.
