The same time period last year, the U.S. had 3,461 cases. Last year saw a six-time increase over 2023. Four deaths have been reported this year.

    Ascension Seton is in the process of buying Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. The hospital, which opened in 2007 at 1401 Medical Parkway, has 126 beds and was one of the few in Central Texas that was not owned by Ascension Seton, St. David's HealthCare or Baylor Scott & White Health. It did have a partnership with Ascension before this announcement.
