ISHPEMING, MI— The Ishpeming Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a man who has left the area while out on bond. Bailey Aho-Carello, 21, is charged with armed robbery, unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle, and two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm. Officers say since he absconded, Aho-Carello also has an arrest warrant out of Ishpeming for unarmed robbery from a separate incident.

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— An Alpena man was arrested at the Soo Locks Wednesday on a felony warrant for criminal sexual conduct. Michigan State Police at the Alpena Post initiated an investigation into a 34-year-old subject last year. He was ultimately charged with eight counts of CSC. MARQUETTE, MI— The state’s “Three Free” weekend takes place Saturday and Sunday. That’s when the Department of Natural Resources allows residents and visitors to fish, ride ORVs, and get into state parks and other outdoor spaces for free. On June 7th and 8th, no license will be needed to operate ORVs on state trails. The DNR will also waive the regular Recreation Passport fee that grants vehicle access to state parks, state-managed boating access sites, and other areas.

AURORA, WI— A 12-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a vehicle in Florence County, Wisconsin Monday. Deputies responded to the accident on County Highway N in the town of Aurora around 6:15 p.m. It caused a power outage in the area. Officials say a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old male left the roadway and struck a boy on a bicycle and a power pole. The child was later pronounced dead at Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson. The driver and his juvenile passenger were not injured.

MARQUETTE, MI— Smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to blanket the Midwest, and that’s causing the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy to issue an Air Quality Alert through Wednesday. The Upper Peninsula will see elevated levels of fine particulate during that time. Pollutants in Alger, Baraga, Chippewa, Delta, Dickinson, Gogebic, Houghton, Iron, Keweenaw, Luce, Mackinac, Marquette, Menominee, Ontonagon, and Schoolcraft counties could reach the Unhealthy range or higher.
