    LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman robbed an east Lincoln gas station early Thursday morning, police say. Around 2:30 a.m., the woman entered the Kwik Shop near 40th and A streets and demanded money. She threatened to shoot the employee but did not show a gun, according to police. The employee handed over an unknown amount of cash, and the woman left. An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several crews responded to a fire Wednesday at a factory in Seward. The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. at the Hughes Brothers factory near North 13th and Seward streets. Seward Fire Chief Tayler Mifflin said workers were welding on the roof of a sawdust bin. The sparks from the welding then ignited the sawdust, according to Mifflin. The fire has since been extinguished, and the damage was contained to two sawdust bins.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Firefighters battled a blaze caused by an overcharged battery at a Grand Island home on Tuesday, city officials say. Around 8:30 a.m., crews from the Grand Island Fire Department were sent to a home near North Adams and West Ninth streets. Crews arrived at the scene and found smoke coming from inside the home. Firefighters found an active fire in the living room and extinguished the blaze in about five minutes, according to officials. No one was injured.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Stolen license plates led to the arrest of a suspected meth dealer in Lincoln on Tuesday, police say. Around 8:45 p.m., investigators with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force spotted a vehicle with stolen license plates near 14th and Adams streets. Investigators followed the vehicle until it stopped at a restaurant near 27th and W streets.

    LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are on the lookout for a woman who vandalized a Family Dollar store in north Lincoln earlier this month. Around 2:30 p.m. on April 6, a woman came into the store near 11th Street and Cornhusker Highway and asked an employee for help. After the employee was unable to find the requested items, the woman ran to the front of the store and “wreaked havoc,” police said. The woman yelled while throwing shopping baskets at other customers and employees, according to LPD.
