    Yashwa Romeo has left his role as manager of Thatcham Town Football Club. He confirmed in a post to X last night that his spell with the club had concluded. “It's with a heavy heart that my time at @Thatcham_TownFC has come to an end,” the statement read. “We've mutually agreed to go our separate ways. “It's the right time for someone else to take over. “Thanks to all the fans and the Thatcham Ultras following us home and away.”The news comes at a tumultuous time for the club.

    Thatcham Town Cricket Club won their first game of the season on Saturday. Jack Young starred with the bat, helping his side to their first win under new captain Michael Klichowicz. They travelled to Maidenhead & Bray 2nd, where they lost the toss and were made to bat first. Klichowicz’ innings was over almost immediately, as he was caught for a golden duck. His partner made a stronger stand however, as Simon Lewis hit a tidy 47 from 67 balls.

    Falkland Cricket Club cruised to their biggest win of the season on Saturday. Bicester & North Oxford came to visit, winning the toss and choosing to field first. Opener Brandon Gilmour didn’t last long for Falkland, managing four from four deliveries before being caught by Liam Randall. His opening partner enjoyed a far more fruitful afternoon however, as captain James Bird batted through an hour and forty minutes on his way to 61.

    Newbury Sunday League is going from strength to strength, and there’s never been a better time to get involved. The league is holding two open training days on June 9th and 16th, as they look to increase their pool of players. The sessions will both run from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, and will take place at City Playground, Andover Road, Newbury, RG14 6LR. Coaches and organisers from all the Sunday League clubs will be in attendance, keeping a keen eye out for new recruits.

    Newbury’s Luke Humphries produced a brilliant surge to defeat World Champion Luke Littler and clinch his maiden BetMGM Premier League title on a thrilling night at The O2 on Thursday. World number one Humphries was beaten by Littler in last year’s showpiece, but he avenged that result on his return to the capital, closing out an 11-8 victory to lift the iconic title.
