Jun. 26—ROCHESTER — That swing. It's special. Mikey Johnson has shown it off for the past two years as a member of the Rochester Redhawks American Legion baseball team and the past three while playing high school varsity baseball for Rochester Mayo. AdvertisementWhen it comes to at-bats, the 5-foot-11, 195-pound Johnson seems to get his money's worth, every time. "Mikey's swing is very level and it stays that way through the zone," Redhawks and Mayo coach Tom Senne said.

ST. MICHAEL, Minn. — Josh Kyei-Baffour has finished things off, looking stylish as ever. A season that was brilliant from the start for the Century star hurdler had an ending that perfectly befit this king of the hurdles. Kyei-Baffour, who set the state’s all-time 110 hurdles record of 13.58 in his team’s section meet May 31, on Thursday beautifully ending things by winning a state championship.

ST. MICHAEL, Minn. — Ridge Hatz woke up Thursday morning on a mission. It was to etch his showing Wednesday out of his mind and accomplish something big in the discus at the Class 2A state track and field meet at St. Michael-Albertville. Hatz is known for achieving what he puts his mind to, including him having packed on 40 pounds of muscle to his 6-foot-2 frame this past summer — all the way up to 260 — an eye toward a big football season. That worked.

Love this dude. What a difference John Millea has made, for so many, including me. One great individual. Gonna be missed tremendously.

Today is my final MSHSL sporting event as I fade off into the sunset (I will retire in August). In honor of this auspicious occasion, my family of weirdos surprised me and the rest of the universe by wearing shirts bearing mostly photos of me when I really rocked it in the 70s. https://t.co/32soh9y7UQ
