CLAIBORNE CO., Miss. (WLBT) - Two inmates charged with murder are back behind bars. Sheriff Edward Good says deputies found 24-year-old Tyrekennel Collins and 18-year-old Dezarrious Johnson at an abandoned home on Bridwell Lane Saturday morning. Collins and Johnson escaped the Claiborne County Detention Center around 2:20 a.m. Friday. The sheriff says they will be transported to Jefferson County and Copiah County, where they were originally arrested for murder.

RIDGELAND, Miss. (WLBT) - A 6-year-old girl is dead weeks after nearly drowning in a swimming pool at a Ridgeland hotel. Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers said the incident happened on Saturday, May 11, at the Drury Inn and Suites hotel. Police, the fire department, and Pafford EMS worked to revive the child, and she was then taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. The 6-year-old, Skylar Thomas, was listed in critical condition at UMMC.
