PHOENIX — Phoenix seniors said they're frustrated with how they're being treated. "We're seniors and we mean something," said Victor Sanchez, a resident at Senior Living at Henson Village. Sanchez and other seniors are voicing concerns about the living conditions at the apartment complex for seniors which is partially owned by the City of Phoenix. Several residents reached out to ABC15 and shared videos of homeless people living outside, leaky roofs and overflowing trashcans.

PHOENIX — Could red-light cameras in Phoenix make a comeback? A Phoenix committee on traffic safety is considering bringing them back as a tool to make the city’s streets safer. A dozen red-light cameras across Phoenix were put in place in 2001 and removed in 2019. City officials have discussed bringing them back in the years since, including just last year.

TEMPE, AZ — Tempe officials will hold two public hearings for proposed speed limit changes on four major roadways — Mill Avenue, College Avenue, First Street and Southern Avenue. According to the city, the changes look to "match the function and character of these corridors." Still, some drivers told ABC15 they don't think reducing speeds will help. "I feel like a lot of people do speed on the street," said Caden Bundy. "They do go faster than the posted speed limit and stuff."Others agreed.

PHOENIX — Neighbors near Central Ave. and Northern Ave. in Phoenix want the city to install a crosswalk or HAWK light to help keep people safe. "I just don't want anyone to get hit," said Beth Hilker. Hilker told ABC15 more people are starting to cross Central Ave. to get to new OHSO restaurant in the area. "It's a great place to have in the neighborhood. We love it, we're so excited about it, but it is bringing a lot of people crossing Central," she said.

A new rideshare service is expanding to Phoenix. BlackWolf is based in Atlanta and is known for letting its drivers carry firearms. However, the company's founder, Kerry KingBrown, told ABC15 that his company is focused on finding the right drivers to keep people safe.
