Highs should top 100 degrees on Thursday, near 102 on Friday and will still be around 100 and a bit breezy in the afternoon on Saturday. High pressure is coming in large and in charge and will lead to highs in the upper 80s on Saturday and Sunday, with highs in the 90s starting on Monday. Phoenix could break some daily high records next week on Monday and Tuesday. The daily records for those days are 94 and 96 degrees, set in 1990 and 2022 respectively.

The daytime average high for this time of the year is 78 degrees, so we are about 20 degrees below normal. With rain amounts on Thursday anywhere from .10” to over a half inch of rain in the East Valley, Phoenix Sky Harbor checked in officially with 0.16”. For the month, we now have .74” of rain and .77” for the year.

A little bit of rain greeted the cold front that passed through the Valley overnight, but the most measurable rain was confined to the northeast corner of the Valley, with just under a tenth of an inch near Fountain Hills.
