The last weekend of May brings us into Memorial Day on Monday. It's generally the weekend that most people and businesses open their pools. I guess it's the unofficial opening to Summer. Whether it was playing around in my tiny plastic pool in the backyard or swimming at my neighbor's inground pool, there was always F-U-N to be had in the water. On Thursday, Police Officers were dispatched to Walmart on Stratford Road for a report of a theft in progress. They responded to the store at about 8:30 am. While the suspect was still inside Walmart, Police took a visual on the suspects vehicle. They observed evidence of drugs in the car. An unbelievable saga unfolded on I-90 Wednesday night as Washington State Patrol arrested two brothers in separate high speed chases. At about 8:20 pm, troopers attempted to pull over a Honda Civic on westbound I-90 for improper merging. After a Pursuit Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, the high speed chase went on until the car stopped on an eastbound I-90 ramp. The Honda lost a tire and spun out on an off-ramp facing the wrong way.

I warn you, the story of Tilly will bring you all the emotions. The 16-year old otter was euthanized after her health was declining in her old age. In 2009, Tilly was rescued as an orphan. She was named after the Tillamook River. Tilly was found near Johnson Creek after an animal attack and severely malnourished. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife transported hr to the Oregon Zoo. She won the zoo's "Mom of the Year" award in 2013. She raised her own pups, Mo, Ziggy, Tucker, and Nellie.

A Washington man was sentenced to 144 months in prison for distribution of child sexual abuse material. United States District Judge Thomas O. Rice imposed a lifetime of supervised release for 43-year old Donald Eugene Griffin Jr., who will also be required to register as a sex offender.

On Thursday, April 28th, at about 6:15 pm, Kennewick Police Officers responded to several reports of shots fired near West Clearwater Avenue and North Edison Street. Witnesses reported seeing three individuals running throughout the roadway firing multiple rounds at a passing vehicle. K-9 Ivan was brought to the scene to assist with with a track from the suspects' last known location. A drone was also used in the investigation. The Benton County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation.

Kennewick Police officers were dispatched to the area of West Deschutes Avenue and North Kellogg Street for a collision on Tuesday. Upon arrival, Police found a City of Kennewick light pole was struck, as well as a Benton PUD electrical pole. The Female Driver Sustained Minor Injuries in the Collision. According to a witness, the suspect's vehicle was traveling at about 40 mph southbound on Kellogg Street, before to an abrupt stop, due to the collison with the two poles.
