The earliest-ever sighting of an Asian Hornet has been reported amid fears of the species now surviving through the winter. According to officials, one of the hornets was captured on January 24 this year in Oswestry, Shropshire. This is much earlier than previous sightings, which mainly take place in late summer, particularly in September and October. One of UK's best-known retail brands is to disappear from the High Street as hundreds of WHSmith branches are given a new name. The owner of nearly 500 WHSmith stores has agreed to sell the UK chain to Hobbycraft owner Modella Capital in a £76 million deal which will eventually see the stores rebranded as TGJones. The sale does not include the retailer’s travel locations, such as shops in airports and train stations and also in hospitals.

WH Smith is officially disappearing from the high street. Nearly 500 stores are being sold to Hobbycraft owner Modella Capital. The £76 million deal will see all the stores on high streets rebranded as TG Jones. This sale does not include WH Smith's travel locations, such as in airports and stations.
