Two drug dealers who were part of a network supplying cocaine to East Herts have been jailed for more than 10 years in total. Ervis Kastrati, 31, and Fatlum Dautaj, 24, both from the Cambridge area, were among four men arrested last summer in an operation by Hertfordshire Constabulary targeting an organised county lines crime group. The police operation followed a seven-month investigation into the supply of cocaine across East Herts, North Herts and South Cambridgeshire.

Reform UK has its second East Herts Council member after winning a by-election on Thursday (May 1). Terry Smith polled 541 votes in the poll in the Braughing and Standon ward which was triggered by the resignation of Conservative Frankie Woolf. He beat Tory Jane Dodson (484) by 57 votes. Third was James Taylor-Moran of the Green Party with 307, fourth was Labour’s Jo Linney with 134 and last of the five candidates was Liberal Democrat Freddie Jewitt with 97. The turnout was 33%.

Police have today reissued an appeal to the public for their help in locating a man who is wanted following incidents in Bishop’s Stortford, including making threats to kill and assaulting an emergency worker. Bradley Parker, 45, whose last known address was in Stansted, is wanted in connection with making threats to kill on Saturday March 1, a theft from Tesco Express, South Street, the same day and an assault on an emergency worker on Wednesday March 5.

One driver was taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars in Bishop’s Stortford on Sunday afternoon (April 27). All three emergency services, including an air ambulance, responded to the collision, which happened in Stansted Road, at the junction with Cannons Close, and involved a red Ford Fiesta and a black Lexus. Police were called at around 1.50pm.
