The Frenship Grad followed the instructions from Texas Tech Coach Gerry Glasco, perfectly sliding under the UCLA catcher’s legs during the Red Raiders 3-1-win Saturday night. Talking to Makayla’s mom Priscilla, it’s not the first time she has done it. Makayla also did something similar in her Senior season at Frenship facing Monterey.

    LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Involved in another pitcher’s duel, Texas Tech picked up some timely hits to win 3-1 over UCLA Friday evening in the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City. Scoreless in the 5th, former Frenship Tiger Makayla Garcia came in to pinch run for NiJaree Canady after she doubled. With Garcia on 3rd, she broke for home as the UCLA catcher threw the ball back to the pitcher sliding in safe to give the Red Raiders a 1-0 lead. What a gutsy call to steal home.
